Seasoned Character - The role model
Ephesians 4:20-24 20 That, however, is not the way of life you learned 21 when you heard about Christ and were taught in him in accordance with the truth that is in Jesus. 22 You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; 23 to be made new in the attitude of your minds; 24 and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.
Christ came and walked on earth among us. He was tempted in every way, yet he did not sin. His life gives us a model of how we ought also to live. The word of God shaped his character, and God’s word led his steps. This was because of Jesus Christ’s obedience to God and his fellowship with him in prayer. Jesus is a role model that we all ought to follow. People should be able to see that we follow Jesus when they see our private and public lives. The title Christian should be given to us because we live like Christ. Take following the exemplary life of Christ as a daily challenge, and surely, with God helping you through the Holy Spirit, your life will never be the same again.
Prayer
Lord, I thank you for the example you have set for us. Help us with your spirit to follow it diligently.
