Take care of the orphans
Esther 2:7
One of the things that God emphasized is the importance of looking after the orphans and Mordecai took up that responsibility. Being in exile, life was already tough for the children of Israel who were scattered by the Lord across the provinces of the Medes and Persians. This meant that being an orphan was even more challenging. Mordecai took Hadassah as his own daughter and did everything he could to bring her up with the best of what he had.
